The Californio Ranch Horse Association has been established to preserve the horsemanship skills and traditions of the Californio vaquero. For some time, these skills have been used by the cowboys of California, the Great Basin, and elsewhere. It is our hope that, through educating the public and nurturing the next generation of horsemen, that we can make sure that this rich heritage does not fade away...

Thank you for your support!
They sat in the shade of the peppertrees
Sons of Spain between their knees.
To their saddles a riata tied,
Chosen from the perfect hide.
They rode all day in the golden light,
To dance the fandango every night.
